Genoa-based Ansaldo Energia has received Notices to Proceed on two contracts worth a total of 80 million euros. One of the contracts, signed with Lotte E&C, is for the supply of two AE94.2 gas turbines and two air-cooled generators for the 500 MW Grati-Pasuran CCGT, being built on behalf of PT PLN in eastern Java.
The second covers refurbishment of a 30 MW geothermal plant in western Java. Hereby, Ansaldo Energia is acting as EPC contractor and will supply a geothermal steam turbine and relative air-cooled generator. The customer is again Indonesia’s state electricity company PT PLN.
Eager to expand its business in Indonesia, Ansaldo Energia recently opened an office in Jakarta that is meant to give the Italian manufacturer as an “even more solid base in Southeast Asia.”
The flagship AE94.2 gas turbines is capable to run on non-conventional fuels, notably naphtha, crude and heavy fuel oil (HFO) as well as low-BTU gases, hydrogen and coal gases.
