The Power of Siberia and Amur gas processing plant being developed in the Russian Amur region are “running on schedule”, Gazprom said in a statement.

“Preparations are underway for the construction of the cross-border section of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline in Russia” Gazprom said.

It added that on the other hand, the “Amur GPP site preparation is advancing and work continues on the construction of access roads, a river wharf, railroad facilities, temporary buildings and installations, including a shift camp for builders.”

The statement followed a meeting between the CEO of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, and the governor of the Amur Region, Alexander Kozlov.

It added “the parties also considered the prospects for supplying the Region with pipeline natural gas to be fed from Power of Siberia.”

The Amur GPP will be Russia's major gas processing facility, with a nominal capacity of up to 49 billion cubic meters per year, Gazprom said, adding this is "an essential part of the process chain of natural gas supply to China via the Eastern route."
The plant is expected to be supplied via the 875 km Power of Siberia gas pipeline with gas from the Yakutia and Irkutsk gas production centres being set up by Gazprom as part of the Eastern Gas Program.
