ABB has launched a new asset performance management solution in collaboration with Microsoft.
The Asset Health Center 3.0 “enables asset-intensive industries to improve efficiencies and optimize costs” by combining ABB’s APM offering with the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, ABB said.
This new offering uses predictive and prescriptive analytics, as well as customized models to identify and prioritize emerging maintenance needs based on probability of failure and asset criticality, ABB explained.
The tool “is also a key component of ABB’s digital substation concept where it collects condition data to optimize performance and improve the substation’s efficiency and cost effectiveness, reducing transformer and breaker downtime by up to 50%” it said.
"Working together, ABB and Microsoft continue to empower digital industrial transformation by surfacing data-driven business insights in industries like transportation, power, water, and gas utilities” commented Caglyan Arkan, general manager, manufacturing & resources, Microsoft Corp.
