Iran's Mapna Boiler Company and Belgian industrial group CMI have signed an agreement for technology transfer and license agreement for heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) of F- and H-class turbines and higher capacities.
The agreement has a ten-year duration, with the option of renewal after five years.
The boilers can be installed in Mapna's power plants which are constructed both in Iran and in the company’s international projects, Mapna said.
Agreement “complementary” to Siemens deal in 2016
The agreement reached with CMI is “complementary” to the F-class turbine technology transfer agreement reached between Mapna Group and Siemens in March 2016, the company said.
Under a 5-year license agreement with Siemens, Mapna was to acquire technological knowhow to manufacture F-class gas turbines in Iran. It is expected that more than 20 gas turbines and associated generators will be jointly delivered over the next decade.
As a first project under the license agreement, Siemens was to deliver two F-class gas turbines and generators for the Bandar Abbas power plant.
The two partners also agreed to jointly develop the roadmap for the extension and optimisation of the overall Iranian power and electrification system.
