Siemens, in partnership with Hangzhou Steam Turbine Co (HTC), has secured a long-term service program (LTP) order from Golden Concord Power Group for two Siemens SGT-800 gas turbines at the Kunshan GCL Blue Sky distributed energy project. This is Siemens' first industrial gas turbine LTP order in China, the company pointed out.
The LTP covers scheduled & unscheduled maintenance, spare parts, technical support, remote diagnosis, project management and a series of performance guarantees for the gas turbine generator sets. The two SGT-800 turbines are installed at a decentralised power plant in in Kunshan, Jiangsu province.
Thorbjoern Fors, CEO of Siemens PG Services, Distributed Generation said the service order win would provide an opportunity to further drive Siemens/ localization strategy in China. The country’s distributed energy market is expanding rapidly, creating a need for flexible service solutions.
As for equipment sales in China, Siemens is supplying the Kunshan distributed power project with two SGT-800 gas turbines and generators, while its partner HTC is supplying steam turbines and auxiliary systems. The first unit is due to start operation in September 2017.
Once the plant is fully operational, Siemens will provide remote analysis and diagnosis of operating data of the gas turbines. The company said its spare parts and tooling warehouse in China can provide fast response, when needed, to help keep the units running at optimal performance levels.
